Actually, I do. Like you do. All of us do. That’s how societal norms are formed. Societal rules are based on what is accepted or not accepted by the people who form the society.

As a participant in this society which we all share, it is well within my rights to say what I will accept or not accept in how others, who are also part of this shared society, treat me. That’s how societies work. That’s why I wrote this piece: to say what I want and how I want to be treated in this society. And you are free to say your own piece, as you have, agreeing or disagreeing. You’re free to ignore me and do whatever you want, regardless of what I’ve stated.

But if enough of us keep saying similar things and agreeing on similar rules, societal norms will shift. For a long time, men have been the loudest voices. That’s changing. The accepted social rules are also changing, slowly but surely. This makes some people, who like the way things were/are, uncomfortable. But it doesn’t stop the change.
